استقبال ولقاء معالي وزير الخارجية الالماني Receiving and exchanging with German Foreign Minister

بدعوة من القنصلية الالمانية في اربيل، وبشخص القنصل العام السيدة بربارا وولف، شاركت يوم الاربعاء 19 كانون الثاني 2018 في استقبال معالي وزير الخارجية الالماني هايكو ماس والوفد المرافق له من برلمانيين ودبلوماسيين ومستشارين في الزيارة الى دير مار متي في جبل مقلوب بسهل نينوى.
غرض الزيارة كان الاطلاع والاستماع من قرب عن اوضاع المسيحيين واحتياجاتهم ومتطلبات دعمهم بما يضمن تعزيز وجودهم في الوطن.
بعد تقديمي الى الوزير من القنصل الالماني، السيدة وولف، التي قدمتني مديرا لمنظمة كابني كاكبر الشركاء المحليين لبرامج المساعدات الالمانية في اقليم كردستان وسهل نينوى، كانت لي فرصة التحدث المباشر مع معاليه وبقية المرافقين مبديا الشكر للدور الكبير الذي قامت وتقوم به المانيا في دعم الاقليات من المسيحيين والايزيدية بعد معاناتهم من داعش، وبعد تقديم الشكر لهذا الدعم فقد ركزت على انه في الوقت الذي نعالج الاثار المادية لمرحلة داعش من اعادة الاعمار والخدمات والاقتصاد وغيرها، فانه يتوجب علينا التعامل مع جذور المشكلة وانهاءها لكي لا تتكرر. وبعكس ذلك فان نزيف هجرة المسيحيين سيستمر ووجودهم سيكون مهددا.
وقد اضفت بالقول: (عندما يكون الانسان في مدينة حيث لا بيت له فيها فانه يلتجئ الى الفنادق للمبيت، ولكن حيثما يكون له بيت فانه يبقى يعيش فيه. كذا الحال مع شعبنا، فانه في حال اطمئنانه على انه في بيته وان له دور في بناء مستقبله فانه سيبقى ولن يبحث عن فندق للعيش في اسكندنافيا او وسط اوربا او اميركا وغيرها. دعونا نُطمئن شعبنا انه في بيته.).
كما شددت انه: (في الوقت الذي يمكن للمهجر ان يوفر معيشة افضل للافراد والعوائل الا انه لا يمكن له ان يحفظ الهوية الجمعية للمجتمع المسيحي، هذه الهوية المتجذرة في هذا الوطن منذ الاف السنين).
وبسبب ضيق وقت الزيارة فقد قدمت الى معالي الوزير والوفد المرافق له نسخا من تقرير مفصل من 54 صفحة كنت قد اعددته عن واقع حال الوجود المسيحي في العراق، وتحديدا سهل نينوى، واهمية سهل نينوى للمسيحيين واحتياجاتهم والتحديات التي يواجهونها في مرحلة ما بعد داعش.
من طرفه، اكد معالي الوزير على التزام المانيا في دعم المسيحيين والايزيدية ودعم الاستقرار السياسي المستديم في المنطقة، شاكرا دور الاقليم في حماية وتوفير متطلبات واحتياجات الاقليات والتعايش السلمي.
في نهاية الزيارة توجه الجميع بالشكر لنيافة المطران مار موسى شماني لاستضافته الزيارة التي عبرت عن التضامن مع الوجود المسيحي العريق في المنطقة.
As per the invitation from German Consul General in Kurdistan, Ms. Barbara Wolf, I participated on Wednesday 19th December 2019 in receiving His Excellency German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and the parliamentary and diplomats delegation accompanying him to Mar Matthew monastery in Maqlob Mount in Nineveh Plain.
The visit’s purpose was to listen and have the first hand information about Christians’ situation, challenges and needs to strengthen their existence in homeland.
After being introduced to His Excellency by Ms. Wolf who introduced CAPNI as the major local partner of the German humanitarian programs in Kurdistan region and Nineveh Plain, I got the chance for a direct exchange with the minister and the delegation members thanking Germany for the big role in supporting Christians and Yezidis.
After thanking for this support, I focused that whereas we are dealing in our rehabilitation programs of houses, economy, livelihood, etc. with the material consequences of the catastrophe, we need to deal with the roots of the problem to fix it and prevent it happening again. Otherwise, the Christian migration and bleeding will continue.
I added: (When anyone is in a city where he doesn’t have home, he will seek hotel to stay, but wherever he has a home will stay and live in. This is the same with our people; if he is convinced that he is living home and has a role in building his future, then will stay and will not migrate seeking “hotels” in Scandinavia, Central Europe, America, etc. Let us convince our people they are at home).
I focused: (Whereas the Diaspora can offer better living conditions for individuals and families, but it can not keep the collective identity of our people which is deeply rooted in homeland for thousands of years.)
Due to the short time of the visit, I handled to His Excellency and the delegation copies of a detailed 54 pages report which I produced about the Iraqi Christians situation, mainly in Nineveh Plain, the importance of the plain to Christians, the challenges they face, and the needs they have in post ISIS era.
From his side, His Excellency enhanced the German commitment in supporting the Christians and Yezidis, and supporting a sustainable political stability in the region, and thanking KRG role in protecting and supporting the minorities and the peaceful coexistence.
In the conclusion of the visit, all the participants offered their thanks and appreciation to His Eminence Bishop Musa Shamany for hosting the visit.
